One of my favorite shovel is my long - handle round - point flowered shovel from Ames . This tool has been with me for well over twenty years . It ’s smaller than your standard spadeful , with a handle that ’s only 43 inches long . It ’s also lighter , consider just 2½ pounds . And yet it ’s the perfect creature for many ordinary undertaking . This little workhorse has seen me through several season of cultivating , transplanting perennials , actuate soil in tight space , and now learn my granddaughter to garden . The tempered brand leaf blade is substantial and long-lasting , and it has withstood my grind it to a sharp edge every leap . I plan to keep this shovel with me for another twenty year .
