Some affair seem to be drawn together organically , like the flavor of blood orange and raspberry . It ’s citrus time of year here in the winter- the only time of the year bloodline oranges are usable . Since raspberries are abundant in late summer , this fix recipe is prepared for over 6 month . Despite having very different season , the tie between these two fruits is undeniable . When I first tasted the blood orangeness juice it was kind of , well , blah . Not as cherubic and vivacious as an orange , albeit the succus is attractively rich to look at , the sapidity miss clout . But what I did taste was a fragile hint , a murmur maybe , of raspberry . It was immediate and undeniable that these two fruits must go together . Hence this blood orange and raspberry electronic jamming formula was born .
First made last winter , the jars were chop-chop gobble up as it is my all - time preferent fix of all time . Then in the summertime when raspberry were ripe and quick , I hunted for origin oranges . In this daytime and age of abundance I though someone might stock up a few . Nope . I settled for making the recipe with mantle gooseberries and it was good . Just not my all - time favorite of all clock time .
But now it ’s time , my friends , time for profligate orange and raspberry jam . at long last . Here is the recipe :
