Last , though not least , I want to write about the last herb greenhouse that we visited on our IHA field of battle stumble , DeBaggio Herb Farm and Nursery . We were greeted by the smiling faces of Francesco DeBaggio ( son of Thomas DeBaggio ) , his spouse Tammy Boggs and his mom , Joyce DeBaggio as we hopped off the bus . Francesco and Tammy are the owner of the farm and baby’s room . Although they are close for the season , they weeded their gardens and open up for us to visit . It seems like being opened from just March to July is n’t very longsighted , however if you are a nursery of this sizing and release over tenner of thousands of plants in a time of year – you experience that there is a slew that exit on behind the scenes for the rest of the year .
Right now , because we were incentive to make the gardens look proficient , Francesco and Tammy with other garden help , weed , rebuild and replant many of the seam . I have to say it is the most weed - free that I have seen it in all my years of last there . ( It ’s good to have ship’s company ) . It is very different to go to the farm , shop and greenhouses off season ; the huge sale nursery was totally empty , scrubbed clean and look the upcoming turn time of year . Usually there are thousands of plants oudoors from yearly to perennial herbaceous plant and a vast mixed bag of veggie and florescence industrial plant . So it looked a bit empty , however it is now tidy and ready to go for next time of year .

It ’s always great to see old friends and to reconnect – our sojourn was short yet sweet . A few folks on the bus die home with kitty and plant . There ’s a endearing H2O feature in the center of the gardens and surrounding prove bed have herbaceous plant and efflorescence .
Francesco , in his forefather ’s footstep , puts out a great catalogue . I look forward to it every spring since it is chockablock full of plant for cut-rate sale , not to mention arise tips and all kinds of great data about the plants . Last year ’s catalog was 48 pages ; you may go online to sign up to receive it.https://www.debaggioherbs.com/
However , I must warn you , they do not transport flora . You have to go there and bring down which is a wonderful sensorial experience . Although they grow over 300 varieties of herb , they are known for their collections / selections of rosemary , lavender , basil and scented geranium . It is a lovely berth to rub and sniff your way around and I always go home with more plants than I take . Beside herb , they grow over 200 change of veg plants with a great selection Republic of Chile peppers , heirloom tomatoes , eggplant and more .

Francesco ’s Web site shows photos of the farm and nursery in the height of the season , you may download the catalog , there ’s FAQs where you may have your question answered , however my favourite discussion section is uprise bakshish . One can dawn on any one of numerous topics from heyday closing rot to ranking the heat of chile capsicum pepper plant , cracking grow information on lavender and rosemary , how to transplant and prune herb and more .
In season , DeBaggio Herb Farm and Nursery in Chantilly , Virginia is a address location for herbies from the tristate area and beyond .
