It ’s really important to “ make do ” and not kick about what you do n’t have .
As the old saying goes , “ I was pitiful because I had no shoe , until I met a man who had no feet . ”
Stop complaining and use what you have !

Joe Bob makes a good point in this late comment :
I had n’t thought about it that path , but it ’s lawful .
“ I wish well I had time to garden … ”

“ I wish well I had outer space … ”
“ I wish I could get out of debt … ”
“ I wish I could run on my book thought … ”

“ Sigh … ”
That ’s silly . peculiarly when enforce in a spirit of envy .
Envy is ugly and gross . When something courteous happens to someone , often there ’s some ego - rivet person that will say , “ I wish that would bump to me … ” or worse , “ they do n’t merit that … ”
Guess what ? No one “ deserves ” anything , really . At least not anything good .
When we render to deport to the Caribbean , we read how hard it can be to go without some of the dim-witted conveniences we take for granted in the body politic . thing like being able to find what you necessitate at a hardware store , the power to pay banknote online , or just hit a Walmart and get food and vesture . Everything was much harder and took longer . It was a beneficial “ chit ” on what we ’d always assumed was “ normal ” liveliness . It ’s not normal everywhere .
Yet we found people that made thing materialize despite all the obstacle . My friend Mike was able to garden and live and progress his own house , despite lacking a fomite ( or driving experience ) , lacking a college education , lacking more than perhaps $ 20 a day in income , and lacking most power instrument .
He made things pass .
If you have a little blank space , employ it . Often God wo n’t give you more if you ’re not using what you have well .
You do n’t require acreage and a tractor and all that to start garden . Garden where you endure , whether that mean on a borrow plot of ground , in container , or in a tiny seam alongside your house , like City Lot Gardening did with this twelvemonth ’s honeyed potatoes :
If there is something you desire to do , do n’t dodge it until the timing is perfect .
It will never be perfect . There is no perfect here on earth .
Make something happen . If there ’s something you wish you could do , it ’s usually better to fail trying than not to assay . Pick yourself up and strain again .
Do n’t make excuses . you may do it . And do n’t shoot down people that are try . Even if you ’re too sick , old , weak or entirely broke to do something , find someone else and encourage him !
in conclusion , as Katie writes on a late mail service about making do :
“ I enjoyed reading this David . I can interrelate to a lot you said . I uprise up in the city , though I was exposed to rural living through members of our church . When I espouse and moved into my married man ’s urban home with a lilliputian backyard in Milwaukee , I felt my heart overflow with gratitude for that bantam little 20×20 backyard that we transform into our first garden . That is where I learn . Heck it was wide-eyed square foot gardening but man did I larn . I loved it . It gave me the foundation to finally surmount up , and through God ’s providence we are now cultivate 12,000 sq ft of solid food gardens upon 19 Akko along the Niagara Escarpment . ”
Have a great weekend .
