More scenes from a gorgeous garden

We ’re back for solar day 2 of Elaine ’s spectacular garden . Creating this garden from an empty 1 - Akka lot has been a project more than 40 years in the qualification , and the results are unbelievable .

It is all about the foliage . Variegated and yellow - leaved shrubs dominate this scene , and the effect is magical — simple , efficacious , and very low upkeep .

A snort bathtub nest between shade - have sex perennial . I care I had as beautiful a spot to take a bathtub as the skirt in Elaine ’s garden do !

Sometimes we nurseryman expend too much meter looking down at the ground and not enough time looking up to enjoy the magic of sunlight separate out through the leave of our beloved Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree . This photo makes me want to go out and look at my garden differently .

The vertical spire of a foxglove ( Digitalispurpurea , Zones 4–8 ) in flower echoes the strong perpendicular lines of Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree trunks behind it .
