Last looks at summer green
Today we ’re visiting with Sharon Danovich Lupone in Pittsburgh . We ’ve been to her garden before ( Sharon ’s Pennsylvania Garden , Part 2andSharon ’s Pennsylvania Garden ) , and today she ’s divvy up some views of the garden is it displace into fall .
As summer wind down , the blooms of thepanicle hydrangeas(Hydrangea paniculata , Zones 3–8 ) take on rosey hues .

A flock ofcoleus(Coleus scutellarioides , Zones 9–11 or as an yearly ) gives season - long people of colour next to the front steps . The russet hues of the foliation complement the house absolutely and seem even more appropriate as autumn approach .

In this raft full ofsummer color , the large plant in the back with a bloodless flush is a gardenia ( Zones 8–11 ) . Gardenias have some of the most powerfullyfragrantblooms of any plant .

ruddy wanderer lily ( Lycoris radiata , Zones 6–10 ) bloom in recent summer , the anthesis stems popping up before the leave-taking emerge a little subsequently . It ’s easy to see where these flowers get their mutual name !
