before long I ’ll need to make a choice .
Now that I have a railcar – woo - hoo ! – Rachel and I require to start hunting for some real estate of our own .
The choice is city or country , beach or mountains , with some undetermined regions in between .
The Beach
The beach scum bag half of me definitely prefer the sea . I love swim , beach combing and roll aimlessly along the shore and looking off into the horizon . It ’s also the location where I wrote today ’s post .
Yet gardening near the shore is n’t easy unless you pose to coconuts , tropic Prunus dulcis and a few other saline - hardy metal money . It ’s also too expensive for me , I ’m sure .
So … I hypothesise the beach is out , but I surely would n’t mind being within a few minutes of it .
As for city vs. country , I ’d like to be in the country . The further out we go , though , the more we really look out of berth . There are other Americans and those of European line in the cities but if you go out into the midsection of nowhere , it ’s all natives . This is n’t tough , necessarily , it ’s just that we ’re going to be objects of curiosity and , for those of darker inclinations , perhaps marks for theft .
I ’d hate to losemy favorite broadfork .
Another issue with experience too far out is the deficiency of access to aesculapian services , which has been more of a trouble for us since moving here than expected .
Somewhere not TOO far away from a hospital might be a sound idea .
By the way , I finally get my cast off … and it feel so expert . Here ’s the update on my fingerbreadth I posted on YouTube yesterday :

What About Mountains?
And muckle . We must babble about mountains .
Because this is the tropic , if you ’re not on the part where the ocean breeze comes in , it can get hot . Between the mountains and the ocean is a belt of hotter surface area , and then as the altitude rises the temperatures cool and rain increases .
The mountains are clad in rainforest and an teemingness of interesting and useful specie from kapok to Cecropia , Haitian basket vine tostinking toe .
Rachel want us high up in the mountains where the temperatures are always in the upper 60s or grim LXX year - round and mist come and go . It ’s beautiful but I do n’t know how my pumpkins would acquire there … or if we could regain a mickle homestead with access to a infirmary … and internet !
Without internet , I ’d have to say bye-bye to all of you .
shortly we ’ll be talk to a veridical estate agent and hunt out some estate . When we do , we ’re going to create a solid food forest that will blow aside my previous project .
Just waitress – I ’ll take you along with me . And if I can get a place in the good deal near the beach … I do n’t think I ’ll ever move again !
